Shoplifter arrested and given a custodial period of 20 Weeks

On 14/12/2025 at 1354hours at Tesco Express, Cranbrook Road, Ilford

MR Williams walks out of Tesco express with a tub of Heroes Chocolate and 2 bottles of Heineken and was being followed by security and dropping the Heineken bottles. MR Williams was detained by officers. MR Williams had stolen £24.50 pounds worth of items namely 3 tubs Cadbury hero's chocolate tubs and 4 bottles Heineken 650ml beer. He also knocked over the display items and kicked the chocolates and various candles on the floor causing £291 worth of damage.
 

PC MIAH, PC TAPIA CUEVAS and PC SABESHAN detained MR WILLIAMS outside of Tesco's and PC SABESHAN searched him under S1 of PACE.

Whilst this was occurring they PC MIAH went into Tesco Express and obtained the allegations on theft and criminal damage, this was communicated to PC SABESHAN who arrested him for theft and criminal damage.

PC MIAH and PC SABESHAN took the suspect to custody and PC TAPIA CUEVAS stayed behind to obtain the CCTV and the victim statement.

Mr Williams was given a total custodial period of 20 Weeks
